The Earth's Climate is Changing Everywhere - "Books For and Against Global Warming"
Books that Affirm and/or Deny Global Warming
Global warming has caused the publication of two main types of
books. Some books promote the idea that there is no problem at all - global warming does not exist or is just
a blip in time... that it has nothing to do with humanity's actions
Other volumes list the evidence of global warming, predict dangerous consequences, and suggest possible
solutions to the global warming problem. To obtain a balanced perspective on global warming, you
may want to reading a variety of books on the subject.
One of the most well-known book on global warming
is Al Gore's
"An Inconvenient Truth:
The Planetary Emergency of Global Warming and What We Can Do About It."
Gore's book shows strong evidence that global warming is real a man influenced. And provides
ways people save the earth from the most catastrophic effects of rapid climate chang. It also
implores world leaders to stands up and hear the warnings of an environment in
crisis and then do something about it.
An opposing viewpoint is presented in a book entitled
"Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1,500 Years,Updated and Expanded Edition". This book, authored by Dennis
T. Avery and S. Fred Singer, provides an argument that global warming is a cyclical
event that happens gradually and systematically throughout history.
Scientific data backs up the writers' claims and supports the book's main thesis that no one should be
concerned about global warming.
However, interpreting scientific data is a two edged sword...
there is scientific information that
supports the many claims of global warming dangers. A book titled "Global Warming: The Complete Briefing"
gives facts and theories about the foundations of
global warming and climate change. In this book, the impact of global warming on future of the world
and ways
to help minimize global warming are outlined.

Children can learn about the subject by reading a
book called "This Is My Planet: The Kids' Guide to Global Warming." Jan
Thornhill, the book's author, gives the amazing facts that show how fast
changes are occuring, and how global warming maybe causing that to happen.
Understanding her younger audience, Thornhill is careful to sprinkle the book
with lots of hope and ways for children to help change the situation. Which maybe a good reason why
adults should read this, too...
"Down-to-Earth Guide To Global Warming," by
Laurie David and Cambria Gordon, is another children's book worth picking up. It uses bits
of humor to discuss this serious subject. Along with providing the facts behind the genesis of
extreme global warming, it is nicely illustrated with vivid pictures. As another book
for elementary school-age children, it details ways for kids to fight global warming in many
areas of their daily lives.
A fun and interesting book on the subject of global
warming is "The Live Earth Global Warming Survival Handbook: 77 Essential Skills To Stop Climate Change." David de Rothschild,
the author, wotte this book as a fun, compelling, and sly deconstruction of a survival guide. While part of the
text is tongue-in-cheek, practical advice and factual information show ways to save the world. Full-color
instructional illustrations are included that
offer important information about ways to
improve the environment. It is a companion book to the Live Earth Concerts
in July of 2007 that took place during a 24-hour period around the world.
Another interesting book available online is
Do Your Part:

This book tells you 200 Ways to Fight Global Warming. It shows you what global warming is and what
causes it
in the first place... What we are currently doing to fight global warming and why it isn't enough...

individual can do to fight global warming successfully.. How can you become an effective and successful
activist...
And, of course, much more.
There are many books about the current global
warming trend and the resultant climate changes. Many are aimed at the children who are next to
inherit the
earth and whose future quality of life depend upon the actions of the older generations. Some
books focus heavily on scientific data. Others rely on humor
to tell their story. Some are a simple call to arms to anyone who
will help curb global warming. Other texts debunk the whole thing entirely. Global warming is a
subject worth study and
there are plenty of books to start your reading with.
